Biography
Alvaro Guillot, the son of a French diplomat, has traveled throughout the world. He lived the life of the existentialist with the young painters in St. Germaine de Pres. Through his friend, artist Charles Levier, he was influenced to pick up the brush and paint.
By branching out into his own changing style, he first experimented with natural surrealism. His later works developed into abstract realism.
Although Guillotīs works realistically represents objects, themes, and places, it is the interrelation
of colors, forms, and shapes which are of primary importance. This is evident
throughout all of his landscapes, and more particularly in his studies of still objects.
Alvaro Guillot has been recognized worldwide for his accomplishments as an artist, and most remarkably,
by NASA through the commission of four of his original artworks, one of which currently hangs in the Smithsonian. At the height of
his career Guillot dropped out of the prestigious New
York and Los Angeles art
scene.
